DRY NEEDLES

Dry Needling

DRY NEEDLES

Insertion of a dry needle in the area where the body has a “trigger point” provides therapeutic treatment for chronic and acute pain, trauma, and injuries; issues with range of motion; and muscle ache, tension, and strains. Needles are inserted to minimize tissue damage and change metabolism and circulation. Muscles that have chronic dysfunction feel crampier and tender after treatment than less affected muscles.

Dry Needling

TECHNIQUE

Dry Needling is less invasive because it utilizes thin needles so that the patients may not feel the needle to penetrate the skin although the “twitch response” is still present. This treatment is more effective than Standard Care, Physiotherapy, or Wet Needling. Results of this Rehabilitation therapy become visible within 2-4 treatment sessions but this estimate changes based on several factors such as health of patient and duration of symptoms.
